I OPEN doorS into the world of your story.

When you’re ready, I’m here.

You: The WRItER

You are the author, and that is no small thing to me. It’s where we begin. You understand your story best, and your job is to write it.

Me: The Support

I’ll help you uncover, dust off, and polish the truths at the heart of your work. My role is to support your story and goals, whether that be to publish, write three times a week, or reshape your piece.

I HAVE 20 years experience working with creative minds.

Here’s my truth: No one story or writer is the same, and all of them deserve the same level of care.

I’ve worked with writers of all levels — from those just starting out to NYT best-selling authors to college-bound seniors. My skill, experience, and passion lie in pointing out the threads you’ve overlooked in your story, showcasing your book on a custom-made website, or helping you get that essay cleaned up and sent out.

Maybe you woke up a few nights ago with the idea for a novel. Maybe you’ve written 400 pages. Maybe you are an author who needs a website to let readers find your work. Or perhaps, you want to put the finishing touches on an essay that reveals a deep truth you’ve learned.

Whatever you need, I’ll be honest about whether we can work together on it and what is the most efficient, thorough way forward. (NOTE: I only work with happy clients, so expect to be delighted.)

“Hiring Melissa as my developmental editor was a wise investment. I knew I needed help in organizing my memoir into a more cohesive format. It had become increasingly harder for me to maintain objectivity since I had been working so closely with my story for such a long time. Melissa’s professional viewpoint and insights proved invaluable. She helped identify themes I hadn’t even considered. She highlighted passages in which I had veered off from the story arc. Thanks to her beneficial suggestions, my story is in a more orderly progression.

My memoir contains many difficult and grief-filled chapters. Melissa didn’t shy away from responding, offering heartfelt and gentle acknowledgments of those challenges which revealed her own tender heart of compassion.

I greatly appreciated Melissa’s organized and detailed way in which she worked, along with the thoroughness of the feedback she offered. Working with Melissa helped me become a better writer. I’d highly recommend her.”
